Hi, my name is Francesco and I'm Italian. I'm a big fan of Coldplay and the guys know me by my name, this because of an in-store performance almost 2 years ago in Milan. I was in the first row, and Chris asked which song I wanted to hear (Shiver), asked my name and dedicated it to me! He also modified lyrics at the end of the song putting my name in it "I looked at your direction, Francesco/But you paid me no attention, Francesco" and so on. Great!
The day after there was the concert and Chris saw me in first row, and after a while recognised me and greeted me from the stage, and then dedicated me one more song (Sparks) changing the final "la la la la la" in "Fra a a ance sco". Everybody was mad about it. They passed also the concert on the radio! Great once again!
At the end of concert I waited for him, and Chris thanked me so much, don't know why but he did it! I told Will I had become a celebrity and he asked me 4 my autograph on his wrist, after signing my poster with a big: "NO.1 ITALIAN FAN" on it! Great once more!
But this hadn't happened in Rome, so I don't think it would interest you. In Rome I caught them again before the show (Chris remembered me after 2 years) and after. The photos above are some photos took during concert (Chris kept me launching bottles from stage, but no dedication this time) and the aftershow catching of the band by me and friends.
I can't write a really review, I just can't say much about new songs, apart that they really rock hard and are really good. Old ones were played very professionally and Chris, knowing them pretty much, enjoyed being mad on the stage, jumping all around and screaming!
The best one goes to 'In My Place' that even if it isn't out yet was sung by everyone, with Chris climbing stage as you can see in the photos. I liked also very much the cameras that each member had pointing at him, making everything more magical... the location was also very nice, with Chris joking on the fact that he had never played in front of two fountains.
Moreover, the sponsor of the location was an ice cream and Chris also sayed that he had never did a gig sponsored by an ice cream! They ended everything giving us a special "Lips like Sugar" that wasn't supposed to be played (it wasn't on the set list). Aftershow the guys had been pretty nice coming to sign and to take pictures of us. However we thought first that Chris had gone away without greeting us, but after a while he came out in a car and make it stop because he saw us (he had promised me to meet aftershow). We took that funny photo, thanked me again and greeted me. He told me they were coming back in Italy in November and so it is.
So Coldplay had big plans about this new album... And this makes me a little sad, because they will play in a big place and it will be very difficult to meet the band...
