Mit ihrem neuen Album „X&Y“ im Gepäck starten Coldplay derweil ihre Welttournee in Deutschland. Nach dem offiziellen Start in Hamburg gastierten die Briten bei ihrem zweiten Konzert in Köln. 15.000 Besucher zog es bei bedecktem Himmel an den Ort, wo normalerweise nur Reggae Musik aus den Boxen dröhnt. Zuletzt noch im Kölner Palladium zu sehen, spielten Coldplay nun bei ihrer ersten Open-Air-Tournee am Fühlinger See. Für das Rahmenprogramm waren Richard Ashcroft und die Hamburger „Fischköppe“ Kettcar geladen (zit. Band). Kettcar begannen den Abend um kurz vor sechs mit einem soliden Auftritt, der beim Publikum jedoch nur bedingte Euphorie auslöste. Schade eigentlich, denn für die Band war es sicher ein großes Ereignis. Besser hatte es da schon der ehemalige The Verve Sänger. Mit einem wunderbaren Auftritt, der ideal in diesen Abend passte, stimmte er die Besucher blendend auf die Hauptband ein. Ashcroft trat ohne Band, nur mit Unterstützung eines Keyboarders auf und spielte wie gewohnt selbst Gitarre. Er überzeugte zu jeder Zeit durch seine gewaltige stimmliche Präsenz, die mit ihrer gefühlvollen und ausdrucksstarken Wirkung wohl jeden in den Bann gezogen hat. Neben eigenen Lieder spielte Ashcroft diverse Verve-Klassiker wie „Lucky Man“, „Bitter Sweet Symphony“ und „The Drugs Don´t Work“, bei dem es während des Liedes kurzzeitig anfing zu regnen.

Mit einer rückwärts laufenden Digitaluhr wurde dann der Hauptact des Abends angekündigt. Coldplay betraten die Bühne und stellten mit „Square One“ einmal mehr ihre live Qualitäten unter Beweis. Die Band ist perfekt aufeinander abgestimmt und spielt überaus präzise. Alles wirkt bis aufs kleinste Detail einstudiert und gut überlegt. Nichts bleibt dem Zufall überlassen, außer bei einer Textpassage, die Chris Martin kurzerhand ins deutsche übersetzt und damit nicht nur im Publikum für Erheiterung sorgt. Selbst die Band schmunzelt darüber und erweckt für einen kleinen Moment den Eindruck von Improvisation.

Mehr als die Hälfte der gespielten Songs stammen vom neuen Album. Lieder wie „Low“, „White Shadows“ und „Square One“ integrieren sich nahtlos ins Repertoire und begeistern ebenso wie altbekanntes Material. Von ihrem Erstling „Parachutes“ performen sie lediglich drei Stücke. Was bei der eingefleischten Fangemeinde im Nachhinein für ausreichend kritische Töne sorgen dürfte. Neben „Yellow“ spielten die Briten „Sparks“ und „Everthings Not Lost“. Hits wie „Shiver“ oder „Trouble“ wurden leider nicht berücksichtigt. Jedoch war die Ausbeute von Songs des ersten Albums auf der letzten Tour auch nicht viel besser. Dennoch wurde die Menge mit Liedern wie „The Scientist“, „Politik“ und „Clocks“ verzückt und bestens unterhalten.

Das Hauptaugenmerk liegt aber bei der Präsentation des aktuellen Albums. Was aus verkaufstechnischen Gründen auch einleuchtend ist. Somit werden wohl viele Leute ihre Lieder gehabt haben, die sie gerne gehört hätten.

Coldplay haben zweifelsohne eine Weiterentwicklung vollzogen und sind eine grandiose Liveband, die auf der Bühne immer besser zu werden scheint. Die neuen Lieder sind wie dafür gemacht, vor großem Publikum gespielt zu werden. Mit entsprechender Lightshow und Videoleinwänden, die schon auf der letzten Tour zu finden waren, wird das Produkt Coldplay ins rechte Licht gerückt und perfekt platziert.

Mit nur 80 Minuten Spielzeit, keiner Zugabe und einem Eintrittspreis von 52 Euro muss man sich jedoch leider die Fragen stellen, wieso in Gottes Namen die Briten nicht noch mal auf die Bühne gekommen sind, um die zahlreich jubelnden Fans noch ein weiteres mal zu begeistern. Zumal von Seiten des Veranstalters eine andere, höhere Spielzeit genannt wurde. Ich hoffe nicht, dass Coldplay denken, sie haben es nicht mehr nötig!

With their new album "X&Y" in the luggage start Coldplay meanwhile their world tour in Germany. After the official start in Hamburg the British gastierten with their second concert in Cologne. it pulled 15,000 visitors with covered sky to the place, where normally only Reggae music from the boxes roars. Last still in Cologne palladiums to see, Coldplay played now with their first open air tour at the Fuehlinger lake. For the master program Richard Ashcroft and those were loaded Hamburg one "Fischkoeppe" Kettcar (zit. volume). Kettcar began the evening over briefly before six with a solid appearance, which released only conditioned euphoria at the public however. Actually harm, because for the volume it was safe a large event. Better it had there already the former The Verve singer. With a marvelous appearance, which fit ideally into this evening, it joined in the visitors dazzling for the main volume. Ashcroft arose without volume, only with support of a Keyboarders and played like used even guitar. It convinced at each time by its enormous stimmliche operational readiness level, which probably pulled everyone with its sensitive and expression-strong effect into the spell. Apart from own songs Ashcroft played various VE classical authors like "Lucky one", "bitterly Sweet Symphony" and "The Drugs Don't Work", with it during the song briefly began to rain. With a digital clock running backwards the main act of the evening was then announced. Coldplay entered the stage and proved with "Square One" once more their live qualities. The volume is co-ordinated perfectly one on the other and plays extremely precisely. Everything works to on the smallest detail rehearses and well considered. Nothing is left to the coincidence, except with a text passage, which translates Chris Martin short hand into German and so that in the public for Erheiterung does not only provide. Even the volume schmunzelt over it and arouses for a small moment the impression from improvisation. More than half of the played Songs come from the new album. Songs like "Low", "White Shadows" and "Square One" integrate themselves smoothly in the repertoire and inspire just like long-known material. Nevertheless the quantity with songs like "The Scientist" to hit a corner "politics" and "Clocks" and in the best way maintained. The special attention is however with the presentation of the current album. Which for salestechnical reasons is also plausible. Thus many people will probably have had their songs, which would gladly have heard them. Coldplay carried out and are without a doubt an advancement grandiose live volume, which seems to become ever better on the stage. The new songs are made as before large public to be played. With appropriate Lightshow and video canvases, which were to be found on the last route, the product Coldplay is moved in the right light and platziert perfectly. With only 80 minutes play time, no addition and an admission fee of 52 euro one must however unfortunately place oneself the questions, why into God names the British did not come still times on the stage, in order to inspire the numerously whom are jubilant fans still another further times. Particularly on the part of the organizer another was called, higher play time. I do not hope that Coldplay think, it have it no longer necessarily!
