Chris Martin and co warm up for Glastonbury headline slot at David Bowie's Meltdown festival...

COLDPLAY played DAVID BOWIE'S MELTDOWN festival last night - and dedicated a song to KYLIE MINOGUE.

Lead singer Chris Martin had spotted the Aussie songstress sat in the audience at the London Royal Festival Hall gig and just before launching into 'See You Soon' said: "This song is for any ex-members of the cast of 'Neighbours' in the audience tonight."

There was also drama towards the end of the gig as the band began their hit 'Yellow'. Huge swathes of the all-seated auditorium suddenly stood up and ran to the front of the stage with one young man breaching security and jumping up next to the band.

As security guards attempted to catch the stage invader and haul him off, the band intervened and told them to leave him be. The interloper then grabbed the microphone from Chris Martin and proceeded to sing the song himself.

NME.COM's reporter there Julian Marshall said: "It was just really funny, the band were all smiling. I think the lad must have had a bit to drink because he kept getting all the words wrong and stage fright kicked in after not very long. The whole gig was just brilliant."

The band played a clutch of new songs from forthcoming sophomore album 'A Rush Of Blood To The Head due out on August 26 as well as new single In My Place', due out on August 12.

It's thought the set played last night will be similar to the one the band will play Friday when they headline Glastonbury Festival.

The full set was: 'Politik' 'Shiver' 'Spies' 'Daylight' 'Trouble' 'One I Love' 'Don't Panic' 'Everything's Not Lost' 'See You Soon' 'God Put A Smile Upon Your Face' 'Yellow' 'The Scientist' Encore 'Clocks' 'In My Place' 'Life Is For Living'
