ok, the girls are still sleeping and me and hubby are making the breakfast - where do i start? the girls got here around 12 -(Halokiti, Sarah, Stephberryman, Pris and cooky) jumping out of my skin when pris got here with sarah, iwas litteraly in the street directing the car to the side so i could hug her. got on the road and tons of effing traffic - but no one cared, my car has this thing where you can download cd into the harddrive of the car, so i have the complete library of Coldplay and we listined to the whole thing on the way up in alphabetical order!!!
we were like the first people there so we were pumped, met chelsea and lauren and started the 3 and a half hour wait outside, eating butterfly cookies, (also had butterfly cupcakes becasue it was ERica's bday) will up load pics soon and making posters. i was freaking couaes i was not sure the sweet cheeks banner would make it inside so i was going to shove it down my pant leg. it sucked becasue we ddnt have portable ipod or anything but we could hear some of the soundcheck. oh i hear girlfans upstairs, be back in a minute..............
ok, they have been fed, so we line up to get in and we storm the gates, then we had to get stupid (purple though) wristbands and wait on another line. so then we run in and head to guy's side - front row on the bariier and we are squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeing like manicas, this is the closest i have ever been, and right next to Ramp of love. yada yaada perter yorn was good. so now we realize there is no way we can go to the bathroom casue we are not losing our spots but we didnt have much liquid anyway
so it all begins and we are jumping out of our skins and Guy is looking hotter than ever and the jonny love was devine. cutie will was banging away and chrissy was running aound like a manic and was in an amazing mood. silly, funny, charming - in top form. i cant remember set list but strawberry swing and glass of water was amazzing. our signs were soooooo cool and chrissy totally loved the phil sign. Erica made a beautiful warning sign and i was shoving it in Chrissy's face the whole time but to no avail. we were screaming the whole time and the guys knew that we were the die hard fans, they were on our side most of the time. chris go bored of the peeps on Jonny's side. ok, i gotta do the family thing and will post more details later, the girls will prob log on soon to give better accounts. we have amazing pics and vids, Politik is insane sooo close your gonna love it.
so more of the show. i forgot to mention when we were standing in line we had a Jackie sighting behind the gate, scared the crap out of me and we all thought of Angie. hehehe the warm ups were good but we were there for one thing, the boys. they came on the stage from our side ( Guys ) with the sparkle candle thingy and we were so close i was cramming my neck for pics. they were behind the black neglige so it was too dark and went into LIT, one of my personal faves. the ramps were much shorter here and we were like right on top of them. when chris would come on them he moved so fast i could not get good pics but i am loving the dragon one with his belly showing - squeeeeeeeeeee they loved all of our signs and we were totally jammin and showing the love - had no view of Jonny love to speak so that kind of sucked big time and the berrygirls were like listen lady we are going to guys side and your commmin, we really had no choice cause we wanted to be in front so that was what was left. we were so close i really could not see will at all, ah the trials of being in the front, spoiled that we are. Viva was incredible i thoght i video taped it but will have to look the floor was bouncing, glass of water was devine and the Politik took the cake, holy crap that song never ceases to make my hair stand on end. we were banging our arms in unison and Guy was like holy shit these girls get it and knew we were the real fans. One of my greatest moments as a fan.
so the venue was great, our positioning was perfect and of course we were the last to leave getting handfuls of butterflies, the security there was very nice and and kindly asked us to move it out of the building. and that's when we saw Jackie again. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Sarah got a balloon and we went out to the parking lot to do some tailgating, we popped open a few drinks and ate the butterfly cupcakes I got for Erica's Bday (which i l forgot to take a pic of dammit.) i put the live 2003 cd in and cranked up the sound with all the doors open and started dancing to One I Love. it was a wonderful evening and so glad i got to be with my buds and to have Pris there made it so special. the drive home was hell but worth every minute and now about this Jones beach gig hmmmmmmmmmmmmm............ that would be heaven but dont want to be greeedy
[Christa1]
Hey I was there too!!!!!!!!!! It was AMAZING, but it felt like half an hour, seriously time passed by so fast. It was my 9th time I saw them live, and for the first time I was in a first row , unfortunately I was dumb and instead of standing in the center of the stage, i went more to the left, closer to Jonny (wtf i could stand at the very center) BUT I had the best time so I can't complain. I have too many videos, next time I'm not taking my camera with me haha
[asia]
I'm afraid mine won't be that much diferent to Sarah's & Cooky's as i was with them pretty much 24/7 during those days But anyways, after two flights, a very long wait at an airport and a freakin' earthquake i made it to NYC at midnight on friday. Sarah picked me up and then we went to her place and got to work on our signs that ended up looking oh so pretty.
Next morning we got up and drove to Christa's place where we were meeting the rest of the girls. Noelia, Steph, Erica and obviously Christa. I'm pretty sure i looked like a crazy woman jumping out of the car to hug the girls when we got there After that we started our way to Hartford. There was some traffic and a few of us were getting a bit anxious of whether we'd make it in time, we'd get our spot, if there would be any people waiting in line by the time we got there, etc. But we kept reminding ourselves that we were really early and we would make it just fine We had Coldplay on the stereo the whole way there (with Cooky as the dj) and had a great time singing/talking/laughing the whole way there. So we finally arrived to Hartford and we found the venue pretty easily. It turned out we just had to wait about 10 minutes to be able to park, so we did and then we.were.in
We got out of the car and made our way to the entrance to start getting in line. There were only two girls there apart from us, which turned out to be Lauren (cold_love23) and her sister Sara. The wait after that went by really quick, we were so excited and nervous and having chips and butterfly shaped cookies Christa had brought At some point we could clearly listen to music coming from the venue, and we got all excited thinking we were listening to the soundcheck. Then it turned out it was just a live recording Oh, well... it was still fun to listen to We could see all kinds of people going in and out of the venue (mostly going in) and we were kinda concerned about it.. i mean, where were all those people going?? And why couldn't we do it too?? At some point we even had one of Pete Yorn's guitar players (sorry, don't know the boy's name ) right next to us in the line but we had no idea who he was until later on we saw him on stage The people at the venue were really nice and friendly, and after an evil "gate-opening-test" they finally opened it for good We had our bags open, our tickets in hand and our feet ready... and then we just ran for life!!! I almost fell as it had been raining a little.... the floor was wet and my sneakers slippery , but no way wet floors would keep me away from my Coldplay After that it was a mess to get into the pit. It was up to one poor guy to mark everyone's tickets and give us all a wristband, but finally they pulled it together and let us in. All of us went straight to the spot we wanted, front row, right on the barricade on Guy's side so we could have the rhythm section sight I ended up right on the corner of Guy's ramp and the stage the.perfect.spot
After that it was a matter of waiting and checking out the opening acts. At this point time flew by, we were all just so incredibly happy and excited and in a complete frenzy Both Howling Bells and Pete Yorn were pretty good, they made me wanna look them up and get some of their music.
After that it was Coldplay time!!! We could see the roadies getting stuff together and we could see Hoppy there pretty much the entire time on Guy's bass. Bash was there at some point too, as Franksy. Matt was using crutches and only was on stage for a minute or two, then he went back behind the black curtain. We also did some last minute arrangements to one of our signs as we waited for the show to start
All of Coldplay's equipment got set up, we heard/sang/danced all the way through U2, JayZ and then the Blue Danube then it was finally time!!
We could see the sparklers coming in and i just lost it Then it was LiT. And VH. And then just pure heaven It was so SO SO amazing. We were so close and the guys were in such a great mood. They were laughing and dancing the entire time, and you could just tell they were having as much fun as we were
IMP was amazing, as i finally got to see Jonny and Chris upclose The crowd at this point was great, or maybe it was just us I had never been on the pit before, so i was really looking forward to the yellow balloons and the butterflies, and just getting to experience the whole thing. But it was so much better than i could've ever imagined!!! We were dancing and singing and screaming the entire time, and i can't think of having a better time with other people. It was just so fantastic to get to experience that with people that feel the same as you about the music and the band. Love you girls!!! Yellow was particularly sweet as Chris made us sing the last verse "just for Will" Which we did I kept getting attacked by yellow balloons, being hit with them in the head and even one of them bounced on my camera while i was recording it 42, Politik and Glass of Water were incredible. The energy put into those songs by both the band and the audience (erm... us!! ) was so great. For Lost! Chris used that Chinese Lion head, which i don't understand at all what it's got t do with the song But who cares!! He looked funny and sang and danced around with that thing on Guy's ramp. Therefore, i had him so so close
As i said, the boys were in a great mood which just made it that much better for us Guy was smiling the entire time, and kept smiling&pointing at a spot in the seats. Me thinks he had someone there LiJ was probably the highlight of the night. It's just such an amazing athmosphere with what's going on on the big screens and the song, and the butterflies. OMG the butterflies It's just perfect
During the B stage i could see a bit of what was going on, but not really so i kept looking at the bigscreen. Then during THP, we could see Guy and Will chatting at the main stage while waiting the song to be over Viva was amazing, the woooahhhhooosss were really cool and people jumped around and we all had a lot of fun singing our hearts out and jumping around to the beat Will is SO the star of that song. He hits that bell with such a power It's so intense you just can't stop looking at him banging the damn bell So at this point i've held my sign as much as i could, but at the same time i wanted to take pics&vids and just enjoy the show!!! So i just held it up anytime the lights were up, or one of the boys was coming over to were i was I kept trying to take pics of all of the boys, but Jonny and Will were so far away and Chris moves so much i just stoped trying and ended up with a Guyfest on my pics During the C stage i couldn't see a thing. I turned my eyes to the big screen and it wasn't helping much. There was this big shadow of a head blocking part of it the entire time!! Wth!! I still wanted to take some vids of that part of the show, as it's usually really fun... but beware... You can only see part of the boys, the rest it's the stupid shadow And keep the volume down, as you can hear us singing and yelling VERY LOUD
The show went by so fast but i had such an amazing time. Besides the couple right next to Christa that were sucking face the entire time i think we were surrounded by pretty cool peeps. There was a guy behind me, and he was totally into it. He kept singing and yelling & clapping along whenever we would. Pretty cool guy We were going mad the entire time, and i think we made our point across to the boys that we were not just crazy fangirls as we knew everysingle word and we were enjoying the show so much. I even caught Guy smiling at us
It was absolutely impossible not to see our signs They were big and bright and we had 4 of them Chris' reaction to Christa's Phil sign was EPIC I got a smile and a wink from Will when he saw my Latinamerica sign (and i gotta apologize to poor Chelsea standing next to me as i screamed like a little girl after that ) and Will also gave both Sarah and Cookie a smile and a thumbsup for the Rhythm section sign If anybody's got that on pics or video, please share!!!
It was an amazing show and i had such a great time. Before we knew it it was the Scientist and LiTii and then it was over
After that we collected butterflies, and the nice security guy even passed me some from the stage and the ramp Then some roadie threw a yellow balloon to us, that ended up in Sarah's hands We did some merch shopping, we got our LRLRL's and then we headed to the parking lot to continue our coldplay private party with drinks and incredibly pretty butterfly cupcakes
It's gonna take an awful lot to top this gig for me. Everything about it was absolutely perfect. The band, the vibe, the amazing company It just couldn't have been any better in any way
[Pris]
So, let's see... Pris arrived at my house around 12:30 or so on Friday night (the airport pickup is another story in and of itself) and we got right to making our signs. I made the one for me and Cooky that said "The Rhythm Section is Bangin'!" and Pris made one with the phrase Chavi suggested: "Latin America Came Your Way-- Now How About You?" So those looked great and we probably finished making them around 2 or 2:30 in the morning! So anyway... the next morning we were off! We got to Christa's house and met everyone and then got in the car to head to Hartford. We hit a bit of traffic but didn't stress too much because we knew we were already ahead of the game, the crazy Coldplayers that we are. So anyway, after a long car ride of singing and discussing topics such as Guy's weight loss like Cooky mentioned, we arrived in Hartford! We really had nothing to worry about-- we got there before the parking lot even opened, so by the time we parked the car and got to the line and everything there only a couple of other people there already! That included Lauren (cold_love23) and her sister Sarah (or is it Sara? ) whose username escapes me at the moment (sorry! ) and they probably thought we were crazy, but soon they joined in with our craziness anyway, so it all worked out. So then... we waited. It really didn't feel like waiting too long, because we were all so excited and had some food and games to entertain us, and soon enough 6:30 rolled around and we were just dying for them to open the gates. The staff at the venue were actually really nice and stood on the other side of the gate teasing us for a while, since they could tell we were so incredibly excited. At one point they actually raised the gate and then lowered it again and we were all just like But then of course eventually it was time to go in. So we went had our bags checked, our tickets scanned, and then we RAAAAAAAAAAAAAN!!!!!! It was insane, I almost fell down a couple times, and since I'm so short I'm not the fastest runner, but eventually we made it all to the next line. This was not well organized at all-- there was one poor kid sitting at a table giving out wrist bands to everyone in the pit, and people were like rushing the table and I felt sooooo bad for him. Then they eventually got all of us in a semblance of a line, and let us into the pit. So we went ahead and then.... there it was, prime real estate right in front of Mr. Guy Berryman's bass. So of course we bolted and planted outselves right on the barrier in Guy-land and stood there for about two hours like and in total disbelief that we had successful gotten the spots we wanted in the front row right in front of Guy. So, the opening acts.... Howling Bells and Pete Yorn were both very good, but I'm sure I would have enjoyed them more if I wasn't going insane just waiting for Coldplay to come out!!! The openers flew by and then it was time for the main event.... as soon as Magnificent came on we knew what would follow, and then sure enough there was Jay-Z, the Blue Danube, and then.... Life in Technicolor. The boys ran out and it was just so surreal that they were right there in front of us. But we all were just so intent on rocking out, singing, and dancing, that we were enjoying every moment. I got a ton of pictures (even though most were blurry) which I will try and post, and a couple of videos, but I was having too much fun singing and dancing and I realized that my videos were going to give someone motion sickness so I just gave up. Cooky and I were so intent on making sure Guy and Will saw our Rhythm Section sign, so we held it up a lot during the show. The first time Guy saw it he gave us a little smirk, and you could tell he was thinking like, "Oh okay, very funny, more crazy fangirls," which I'm sure we seemed like! But then, later, during Politik (and forgive me because I know how silly/fangirly/lame I sound here) I was totally rocking out because that's always a highlight of every show for me, and I guess he saw how into the song I was (it was pretty obvious, to say the least ) for about half a second we made eye contact, and he gave me a much more genuine smile than he did the first time and I was like and my heart melted or something. But, whoops, I'm getting ahead of myself. So.... you could tell right off the bat from the beginning of the show that Chris and all the guys were just in a really good mood that night... probably as a result of the previous night's Guystock.... So everything was going really well. Chris came up on the ramp next to us and saw Christa's Phil sign, and I missed his reaction, but from what I heard it seemed like he got it! I just can't wait until he sees it again at Wembley as that banner makes its way all across the world!! So then what happened? Hmm... oh, B and C stage happened, though we couldn't really see them at all. But that was okay, we had a nice time singing and dancing amongst ourselves down in the pit... with the exception of the drunk couple behind me making out without really coming up for air at all. Okay, that's not important. Anyway... B and C stage came and went, Chris made some comment about Guy being in a porno and we all freaked out, and some stupid guy's shadow was blocking the screen during DWNC so we couldn't see Will! Okay, anyway... basically everything about this show was amazing... Lovers in Japan was another highlight for me. I had never been on the floor before during this tour so I'd never been able to experience being right under those butterflies as they come floating down around you. I can't even describe how amazing that feeling is, just the happiest thing in the world. I got some pretty good pictures from that part, too. Then there was the encore, which of course made me a little teary eyed because I didn't want them to go. But of course the show had to come to an end, but not before Will looked right at me and Cooky with our rhythm section sign, smiled and gave us a big thumbs up!! So then I could pretty much go home happy. I collected SOO MANY butterflies and I got one of the yellow balloons that bounced backstage!! We couldn't fit it in the car, though, so we popped it and I saved the pieces. After that we had a little party in the parking lot and waited for the place to empty out. Christa got the most amazing butterfly cupcakes and of course we had some Stellas. Overall, it was just a totally incredible night with amazing music, pretty boys , and even better Coldplayers.
[SwallowedInSea]
So this saturday i went to see my favorite band in the entire world, coldplay, live at the meadows music theater. It was my birthday present.
It was the best concert i have EVER been to in my ENTIRE LIFE.
Not only was the singing phenomenal and in my opinion better than their CD's, their mannerisms and acts took the cake.
They interacted with the audience so much, and even moved stages a few times rather than staying on the main stage.
They moved to the section where i was at, and i rushed by everyone and was only a few feet away from Chris Martin. I could see the sweat on his forehead. There, he played 'trouble' and a few other beautiful piano songs, including "postcards from far away". It was incredible. I couldn't believe i ordered middle stadium seats [i bought them the first day they came out to the public, and the front rows were ALREADY sold out, so i settled for the middle], yet he came to me.
In the way back, there was lawn seating. The people who sat there could not even see the stage, and payed a mear 20 bucks to get in. And once again, Coldplay came to them and started singing them some cute little songs, and did a cover of "I'm a believer". He asked us all "Are you in loveeee?" and refered to his bandmates as "Most likely to star in a horror film", "most likely to star in a porno", along those lines. I forgot what he said to the final member, but something along the lines of how he hates to sing, in private and public, but for just this once to tell us all if he was in love.
We did a cellphone light wave, which was very fun. :wha
During "Yellow", giant yellow balloons full of confetti were released. When they popped, they whole place exploded with sparkles.
And, during lovers in Japan, canons hidden all around the stadium erupted and shot out millions of tissue paper butterflies. It was gorgeous. I later collected a lot up from the floor and am currently in the process of making some type of mural for my wall with it.
I forgot which song, but perhaps in continuation with lovers in japan, chris got in a giant chinese dragon suit and danced around while singing. It was hilarious.
At the end, we all got free albums of their Live CD "left right left right", which has the same butterflies on it as the ones shot from the canons. That CD is incredible.
It was an incredible concert. I cannot wait until they come back... I am going to get VIP tickets and molest Guy Berryman.
My only regret is that i didn't bring my camera. my cellphone pics turned out terrible. :cry
either way...
It was the best moment of my entire life, and i'll treasure it forever.
