That was awesome!
My first Coldplay show. Had 5th row centre but they actually turned out to be 2nd row centre.
Clocks was crazy, maybe my favorite of the night. Politik, Talk… yeah now we’re talking.
From reading the Seattle setlist, I think the Vancouver setlist was the same - not sure about one track as I’d never heard it though…
Totally agree with those commenting on how clocks rocked…
The lads seemed to have a lot of fun out of there… Chris fucked up on a few verses and actually laughed… it was great to see them enjoying themselves.
[Thanks sterdam_Iam]
One word INSPIRING..OK one word and a phrase, JAW DROPPING....it was my first Coldplay show and I haven't stopped thinking about it since. The irony is that due to bad weather and even worse traffic (typical for Vancouver) it didn't even seem possible that my wife and I were going to be able to make it...and sadly we never would've know what we had missed..
I have been to many concerts but none where I can recall such a scene of total serenity and vibes of goodwill between the audience and the band members. Chris Martin is a dynamic performer, highly energetic, and captivating. We couldn't keep our eyes off the stage all night, even though the remarkable special effects/videos were very amazing. Will Champion and Johnny Buckland simply ooze style, coolness, and competence. Guy Berryman is a machine on drums (and to think he was a guitarist when this band formed). The 4 lads of Coldplay are fantastic musicians.
The set list was amazing, encompassing all 3 major albums....my favourites were "Talk", "Clocks", "Yellow" and most of all, "Fix You". A special treat was an acoustic performance of the Johnny Cash classic "Ring of Fire"....every song was simply amazing...you know a band is great when the live performance sounds just like the CDs.
A huge credit should also go out to all of the fans that came out and blew the roof off of GM Place. By looking around at them, I felt that our world is still in good hands and there are millions of amazing, good, and spiritual people out there still.....
Watching Coldplay perform was akin to watching a movie you hope would never end....I felt sad and happy all at the same time, walking out of the arena that night....to summarize, I think only those who have seen Coldplay perform before can appreciate what I'm trying to say, but there are no words...an experience I will always remember and look forward to taking part in again in the future!
