well, I come back home for minutes
and I'm completely exhausted
there was too much sun and not enough water moreover it rained 15-20 minutes at the beginning of the show
But it was so great
All my photos are blur (?)(floues en francais) so I won't post them...

That was so bloody UN-BELIEV-ABLE !!! i was with Tibujoli and we met some so nice people from Arras. We spent such an evening that we will remember for ever ! We managed to get THE perfect location accross the central line just before the stage. At the beginning we were afraid of being a little bit misplaced and then went the opportunity to stand almost on the first row just in front of every single thing that happened on the stage. And that was stupendous and i think we are not able to find the words to express what we experienced. They moved a lot, and made everyone happy in the "Grand' Place" in being everywhere. And they so surprised us : first went a little impro on "the hardest part" with the melody of Billie Jean. Then with many funny parts where Chris wanted to show that his French had improved (indeed he even tried to sing in French, and that was lovely).
And then comes the "showing off" part They moved between stages through the central line and we handed Chris a Tee-shirt. He kind of stopped at our position and took the Tee-shirt, touched our hands looking us in the eyes. Being less than 2 feet from them and especially from Chris, was quite astonishing.
Well despite the waiting and the rain (during the first part of the gig) that was really really good.
ps: i don't think that glass of water was played last nite

It really was a wonderful gig! He cited Jacko at the end of Violet Hill plus he singed Billy Jean at the end of The hardest part, changing the lyrics of the final part!

I got up at 4:30am... as soon as I got into the car to the train station they played VLV on the radio and I was smiling soooo much! These are two pics I took at the train station, it was beautiful...
I took a train to meet Perrine, then we went together to Arras. No point telling you what we listened to in the car!
As soon as we arrived in Arras we went to the place where the others were already queuing. I was a bit overwhelmed with the situation to be honest, had my bag with me and just quickly said hi to the others who were first in the queue, then went to my hotel (literally around the corner of the place), dropped the bag, put on my VIVA shirt and joined the others again.
Perrine, her sister and me sneaked behind the barrier... I didn't get the full conversation, I think the people behind us said it's fine as long as they can run first later or something??
It was a bit strange to talk in 2 languages, most of the time I had to ask Chavi or Camille what the topic actually was... you French people speak too fast for me!!
It was incredily hot and there was no shadow, we were boiling on the asphalt! We were putting on sun blocker regularly and although I am very sensitive to the sun I only have a sun burn on my head
While we were still at the first waiting point a girl behind us was the first one to faint and that would continue throughout the entire day... My biggest fear was that I need to go to the toilet But in the end it worked well with drinking small amounts regularly
We were counting down the time until 3pm, as the time came closer we sang a few songs, the coldplaying choir!! We were good haha! Sadly we couldn't infect the other people waiting to sing with us.
So the plan was already set: All of us had our bags already open (and Carla hid her camera and Camille had a perfect hiding location for her banner!) and the ticket in the hand. The security told us that after our bags were checked we would have to wait at a second point in the shadow. That sounded like a huuuuuge relief. When we were there however... there was no shadow!!!
So waiting in the boiling sun again, this time with people pushing from the back which made it sooo much better I can tell you
Then it was time to run: Camille had her 4-days festival bracelet, she didn't have to have her ticket checked so she was the first one to run, then we all followed and for the next concerts I'll definitely wear sneakers The cobblestones and my sandals were a dangerous combination. As you all already saw we succeeded in the end!!!
FRONT ROW BABY!!
This is a pic a security guy kindly took for us:
We thought there wouldn't be butterfly confetti, we were wrong!!!
It didn't take long and the girl standing next to me fainted, she came back however before the first band started and she was fine until the end, so many others fainted that day, no wonder, it was so hot and no clouds to bring relief...
The first band started playing... M. Ward. They were alright but what made us really cheer was seeing Jackie walking past us, she answered with a smile to us
Most of us shortly sat down between the acts. I got up and it was not hard to guess who would be next: AMY MACDONALD was written on drums, you've probably seen the pic of it already in the Werchter Festival thread... Here's a pic of Amy:
I loved her accent!!! It was great seeing her and singing with her, but that Scottish accent!! I could have listened to her for hours
You others have to help me later - it was during Amy's set that we saw Miller and Phil, right?? I'm pretty sure but so much happened, I'm already confusing things, oh no!!! We all screamed and waved however and he went hiding
Eventually the sun became a little less burning and it was time for the Ting Tings:
Their set would actually require a seperate review AMAZING!! It was a big party, I loved all the songs, I shot a few short videos I'm probably going to upload later... You should have seen us dancing!! We still had to keep some energy in reserve though.
During one song the Ting Ting's asked us to raise our hands, and guess who we saw backstage following their instruction?? CHRIS!!!
So the Ting Tings had finished and now the interesting part began: Watching the roadies
This one is taken with my other camera:
(Yes, I had two cameras with me, together with 2 batteries and enough SD cards, so much I had prepared at least ) The shirts they have are amazing!! I want one!
I was testing my zoom and focus with this pic:
When they were carrying the stairs to the middle we were applauding and screaming, hint of a C-stage in the middle!!!
I love this pic!!!
Every time Miller was spot by us some certain girls next to me were screaming his name There was a "Miller, marry me!" as well, you can probably guess who I'm talking about!
I'm so gutted the next one is blurry, sorry!!!
You all saw the "The old king is dead, long live the king" banner, right? Behind each part of it were yellow hearts with names on...
And when Phil came... was it you Chavi or Carla?? Oh I'm sorry I can't remember!! It's all a blur at the moment!! Ok, when he came the banner with his name on was waved and he saw it of course, he would have had to be blind to NOT see it!!
This is his reaction:
So so so so so cute!!!
Let me say this first: Ok, without a setlist as orientation I'd be lost writing this, keep that in mind please!!! It felt like the whole set was only 10 minutes, it all went by so fast!
While the roadies were testing the instruments and setting everything up there was no music... Finally the curtain that had been put up and two roadies were holding both lower ends! And then "Magnificent" already started!!! We all knew the countdown in form of 3 songs had started! So we were singing and dancing madly! Then that Jay-Z song came and finally THE BLUE DANUBE!!!!
I started filming then already, in high quality of course I think there's a switch in all of our brains, suddenly you are pumped with adrenaline and all hurting feet and legs and everything else is forgotten... Sadly that also applies to my memory a bit, so I need the other's help
We were all holding up the "The old king is dead, long live the king" banner at the beginning until the end of VH!! And they all saw it! My video is extremely shaky because I was holding up my part of the banner and still trying to film... I didn't pay too much attention to what I was filming - seeing it with my own eyes is more important, sorry
At the end of VH Chris sang "And if you love Michael Jackson..." "Tout le monde, ca va?" and I think he said "Bonsoir de nous".
Clocks was amazing as always, with the laser etc... This was when I started taking pics but I'll post them all later altogether.
IMP - my absolute favourite You've seen the Virgin17 video, haha. It was great. I loved Chris's little dance in front of Jonny
I don't know during which song it was but Chris gave us a thumbs up while walking past us!
I loved the fast version of Yellow, all in all Chris was singing a bit differently last night, I loved it!! I can't find the word right now to describe it but if I do you know I'll say it here
Then it started to rain and I couldn't (or didn't want to) use my camera. Actually all the better because you focus more on the stage when you don't have that thing in your hand! It was perfect!!!! We were all soaked through but none of us minded, it was actually very a very welcome way to be cooled down a little. The downside however was that Carla and me couldn't see through our glasses and we all had a mixture of sweat, dirt and sun cream in our eyes... It must have looked as if the whole coldplaying bunch was crying during Fix you I handed out tissues and pretty soon afterwards we could focus again
We were all wearing the shining bracelets that Chavi was handing out, thanks again, love!!
During Strawberry Swing I thought that one of us better get a setlist as I couldn't remember the order already! Oh my memory!
But it stopped raining for the B-stage luckily! I love the techno remixes so much and the atmosphere was amazing.
Chris said hello to the people at the windows, all of them were filled with people having a party like we did! There was a woman with grey hair in one window with her grand-child I suppose and she wasn't dancing any less than us!
I have a video of Chris's speech and THP and PFFA, I'll upload that later! (Quality not the best but better than nothing I suppose). I have to cut it at the beginning of VLV because that song sounds more like a techno party than like VLV, the sound recording is awful!
Ok, so after Lost! they all went to the C-stage!!!! They were far away apparently but the atmosphere was indescribable... beyond description. That big place, all the colourful lights, people in the windows, the heat... I can't find words to describe it. Probably "romantic" and "perfect" comes close. Chris tried to sing in French and had to laugh at the same time, it was adorable!
Carla took a video, from what I could see in her display it must be awesome. All songs were perfect for the C-stage, Green Eyes made me melt... SIGH! I'm sure others will find better words to describe, I can't translate the emotions to written words, if you could see my eyes and my smile you'd come closer to it I think...
So shortly before they finished we already saw the torch in the gap between us and the stage, I thought "Ok, so they'll go backstage now... maybe to the right? Means past us. As the man came from our side.
AND SO IT WAS!!! I touched Chris and Jonny gave me a high-five!!
Camille touched Jonny as well, Chavi Chris and Jonny like me, the others have to tell themselves as I don't know.
When they came back they started with Politik, that stroboscope light was immense! I'm not a big fan of "Politik" but seeing and hearing it live is another thing. Chris was humping like a madman
When it started to rain at the beginning some roadies came running and covered the butterfly bombs with plastic bags... Now guess who came to check himself if everything is alright with the bombs before LIJ??
PHIL!!!
The end came too sudden, as always. Why do all good things come to an end??
We got something to drink and eat at the bar, had a quick chat and then Carla and Chavi went with me to the hotel to make themselves fresh for the journey to Rock Werchter Festival straight afterwards. I took a shower (SOOOOOOO GREAT!!!) and went back to the Grand'Place. I wanted to buy a shirt from the festival but they had just closed it and I could just take a look at the sizes. Camille (you're the best) bought one for me today but I'll tell about today later in that post.
While I was there I went back to the side of the stage where the roadies were loading the trucks. They are sooooo nice!! I was getting so melancholic seeing them removing the stuff. Same trucks than we saw after War Child... and at the same time!
I repeat - it's all a blur as it was so fantastic, so this is how the conversation was more or less:
I talked to them and they said "Why don't you go to bed?" and I replied "It was so amazing, I can't go to sleep straight away after that day!" Roadie: "So you're a big Coldplay fan?" Me: "Of course!" He then asked me where I'm from, he didn't know so I said "You've probably been to Strasbourg at the concert last September? It's close to there" He said he was and I said I was too He asked if I've been to other concerts before and when I said War Child he yelled to another Roadie "Hey, she's been at the War Child Gig!!" So then there were two roadies talking to me haha!!
I got a guitar pick!!! They said there were only 1000 made and they have about 200 of them left, so they would be special
Then we talked about Düsseldorf in August and Wembley - I mentioned the coldplaying meet-up
So now I have some roadies to look out for in Düsseldorf, see if they can remember the conversation then! They can barely sleep this weekend... poor guys. Wished them a nice trip and said we love them and appreciate their hard work to make it all happen.

I just came back from Arras and it feels like it was my first Coldplay show all over again... I came to the 'venue' at 11 am with my BFF and there was already lots of people but luckily we end up 2nd row, right behind some famous coldplayers like Khalplay, Chabuckland, Carla and Chavi (am I right ?), they made a beautiful banner I must say ^^ Anyway it was so hot in there, but I was worth the wait (and the sunburns!). We got to have a sneek peak at Miller and Phil, he smiled while he passed us by, he was so damn cute !! Then we heard the Blue Danube and here came the band ! Chris was running up and down the stage as usual Then came THE moment. It was maybe the 3rd or 4th song, the notes of Yellow were floating in the air with the big yellow balloons and the rain started pouring ! It was unexpexted, but yet so beautiful ! We just kept singing louder and louder, no matter what. There was such a strong and positive energy in the crowd, I understood at that moment what Chris said that we are the best fans in the world The guys seemed happy to see that nothing would stop us, so they clapped their hands to thank us at the end of the song (Chris wasn't affraid to get all wet by the rain either! ). The rain kept coming while Fix you was being played, I have to say that it brought tears to my eyes, not because I was sad, but because this was SUCH A PERFECT DAY, I was with my loved ones, I met new cool coldplayers and we were all there for the same thing, I mean that's the real deal. I really loved as usual Politik and Clocks with the laser effects- it gets me every time ! Gotta love too when our Will was singing on the C-stage, I didnt even have to see him to hear the smile in his voice, *melt*. When they came back from the C-stage they came right in front of us, I was really shocked (still now!). I think it's the closer I will ever get to them so I was pretty happy with that ahah ! I have to say even closer, Guy is perfection Chris spoke to us several times in French, made some jokes- they may have been tired with jetlag but they were upbeat and seemed glad to be here ! When Lovers in Japan began, we had our flying butterflies too (I was quite surprise because since it's a festival we thought that it would be different), it was still magical (and of course I kept my bag wide open so I could get tons of them !). They end up with Life In Technicolor 2, and then left the stage. The rain had stopped and we just felt the bliss- Tonight we had been a part of it.
