I just got back from the concert, it was amazing. GLASS OF WATER was BEFORE yellow on the setlist! AND ALBERT HAMMOND JR. PLAYED ALONG ON GUITAR!
edit: YES, it rocked! It's an uptempo song, Chris played the piano and AHJ played along on guitar, very cool song that blows you away.. aaaaaaaah I can't believe they played it I was so happy when chris started telling they were going to play a new song
Drums were a bit like Cemetries Of London but a bit heavier, chris was on piano and that gave the song that extra bit of melody, albert hammond jr. played power chords along with John. It was quite a long song with a sudden pause at the end and then again a burst into some wild riffing.. I loved it and so did the audience! (and indeed some slow parts that reminded me of DAAHF)

This was the 3rd Coldplay concert I attended this week, and the Antwerp gig kinda felt like a routine one after the previous ones. Same setlist, same jokes, etc.
Thank God 'Glass Of Water' came along. It definitely made my day!

Chris recognised us and actually mention us! the crowd seem more into it then rotterdam, and so did the guys! I love glass of water they played it really pasionate!
Part 1
4 hours of sleep is NOT enough… but hey were seeing coldplay again who cares!!! Left my house around 9 and brought some more supplies: bubble wrap to sit on and a cardboard box to makes signs from.. more markers and more balloons (for Reno heehee)
We arrived at the venue around 10:30 only 3 people there YEAH we got ourselves a nice spot like Pete mentioned against the glass doors (we didn’t bring the airbed though) tried to call Fryske Famke.. but she didn’t answer… not worried though for some reason I trusted her.. (must have been the way she told me: maybe I can help hee hee I loved that) so were actually quite comfy and enjoyed ourselves by making signs out of the box: one for reno: it said: hey reno on one side, and the flip side said: How you doin’? One big one for me: look at the stars, look how WE shine for you And I got 2 small ones on the other side: (cooky pay attention) Thump a Bass Hump the bassplayer (yes that means you GUY) The flip side said: Just kiddin’ now take your shirt OFF! We wre colouring for quite some time, and enjoying soundcheck! soundcheck!?!?!?! Weeee that usually means good news! We heard LIT and VH several times but we didn’t mind then all of a sudden a girl was in front of us and said HI! It took a minute for me took click, but then I realized it was Fryske Famke!! Weee (that’s not her name but I don’t wanna out her)
Now this is the part where I say: THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU I’ll be forever thankfull! She is just too sweet! Off course we needed to pay her and she wouldn’t accept the fact that we wanted to give her some more money than the original price… she finally gave in because she just didn’t have change we got some Pizza and had a little pizza party hee hee, CHavi and I were sitting with our back against the glass and Fryske Famke across from us when out of nowhere she said: Hey that Oxfam guy is getting ready, and Chavi and I almost choked on our pizza! We turned around and saw Pete again weeeeeeee! We knocked on the window but he didn’t hear.. so we wrote him a sign that said: Hey Pete! And held it up, then he saw us and was like: heyyyy you made it! (Without words) and he gave us a wave… then we wrote flip side saying: how are you? He didn’t see or didn’t want to… I think maybe we embarrassed him a bit…
We so now we had something to look out for, for a bit .. then Lauren texted us Pete mentioned us weeeeeee! he turned up again and we made him a sign that said thanks for the blog… hoping he would see it, but by now we had to move away from the door, and security put up some fences to create a line… that didn’t really go in a fair way but we didn’t lose our first spot.. we lost Pete again then all of a sudden he was outside talking on the phone.. when he hung up we called his name and he saw us, we thanked him in person for writing the blog, and wished him luck getting signatures for Oxfam and he went inside, he told us to have fun at the show… It was about 5 and I went to the car to put our unnecessary stuff in, I just closed the door when I heard soundcheck again this time much louder so I stood at the door, and at first I thought it was Albert hammond jr. nbut then I recognized Chris’ voice but they were playing a song I’d never heard before… I was bouncing and wanted to run or call chavi But I made a recording on my phone, it’s really soft.. but still cewllll I was the first to hear glass of water EVERRRRR or at least we assumed that it was… the song ended and I practically ran to Chavi again WEEEEEEEEEEEEE

18.15 Security came outside and to stand in front of us… I asked if they were going to check our bags and he said yes.. I asked the man to do it now so he wouldn’t have to when the door openend and they did Pete showed up near our door and gave us a wave.. maybe whishing us goodluck?
18.28(or something) the doors were openend, but we weren’t allowed to go in yet, yet everybody started pushing and one of the lines broke and that line started running in, it was very unfair cause those were people that arrived at like 15.00 I almost cried and begged the security guard to let us through, finally he did and Chavi ran in first, I was right behind her, security is really harsh in Antwerp, if you run they’ll grab you and hold you.. they didn’t grab me but I got stuck behind a couple that did… lucky for me chavi got the right spot: centre Right GUY SIDE my dream come true!there was like a 10 centimeter gap for me left at the fence and people were really pushing the atmosphere was not good! The dude that was centre front had been a bit behind us in line.. how did he manage to get there before us?! Not fair! Also a lot of people that arrived late were first, the guy behind me came at 16.00 he told me… he was okay though, after a while the pushing stopped and I got some space to breathe, but were were unable to sit down cause people were too close! Allthat didn’t matter.. we were on GUY SIDE WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE (sorry about that)
Now we wait… talked to some people… talked to frank… forgot his screename again (sorry bout that) He handed out printed smiley faces to hold up during GPASUYF, but we told him it would be played at the b-stage so probably wouldn’t be noticed, and decided to just hold it up during both songs Told people about our adventure the previous night
19.15 albert Hammond started… EARLY weeeee! We held up the sign for reno and waved some balloons for him he saw us and smiled theehee! Albert seemed more into it then yesterday and talked more.. saying how it was the last concert and all, and how he had enjoyed it!
Pretty good gig from them as well, couple of smiles from reno it was fun! When they the other guitarist threw some guitar picks our direction, but again missed them (they fell on the floor but we couldn’t see where) we were looking for them and clapping also when a raodie came directly too us with 2 setlists and handed them over, like he had been ordered to do that (or I’d like to think so) anyway it was nice, then chavi said: too bad a bout the guitar pick though, and then she noticed it! It was in front of the fence and out of our reach wee! We hailed someone from security and he gave it too us cewlll!
Again waiting for coldplay now.. even more excited and all the while Chavi and I had so much fun, I haven’t mentioned this btw but we did have an awesome time together! I miss her!!!!

Jay-z came on weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee At the end of the walz I counted down 3…..2…..1……….. and right on cue LIT started I went completely bazookas! I can’t believe how close I was to Guy weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ( ihave some awesome pics an so does chavi) Then Violet Hill we held up Chavi’s sign and at the end Chris sees us and recognized us! OMG
Part 4
- Clocks rocked again! This time I took a lot of time to take pics of Guy cause he was rockin and Chris would be at his piano so I wouldn’t miss any of that action!! They turned out pretty gooddd!!
- In my place! ramp of love action again… Chavi and I both filmed and I think we should put our video’s side by side and play them at the same time.. only I had to pause mine in the middle so try to be a fast clicker! But chavi needs to upload first so a little patience ( I know I ask a lot)
- Speed of sound… we danced danced danced and waved our hands like we were floating (kinda like an airplane) I think guy noticed… but you know I’m delusional!

Chris welcomed everybody and said some things in Dutch (or Flemish same thing) he said something about seeing familiar faces and looked at us again weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Chinese sleep chant: Guy is hottt… did I mention this??? He is hottt OMG and we were so close!
- 42 well what can I say… it rocks!!!!
- Fix you! Will probably always be my favorite live… I have no words for it… just AMAZING! sigh
- Strawberry swing wee such a happy happy song on such a perfect perfect day! Again guy with the clapping… oh well….
- Talk and god put a smile upon your face, sounded great again! A lot of people got out the smiley faces and it was fun! Plus great ass view this time… (sorry but I’m like that) I call my sister during talk cause she likes it!
- the hardest part/postcards aww sweet song… turned around again (I just can’t help myself… ) now I understand when chavi said guy might have been a bit freaked out… heehee
- Viva la vida: yeah indeed! Always love will on the drums and I like that he gets so close to us! Weeee the ooohing was great! I think I held my sign up for hump the bassplayer… I felt like Guy was really tired not that it affect is playing but I wanted to cheer him up! I’m not sure if he read it though.. I’d like to think so!
- Lost… Drums again… no words really… so close… oooh what the heck *THUD*
and if I put my sign up during viva then this is where I flipped it…! The security guard laughed so hard!
- The scientist/death will never conquer… we were the first to turn around again I love that! Chris held that story about us being ongeloofelijk! Such cuteness he said it’s his new favorite word then off course ths scientist was amazing again, and he said such sweet things about will and southhampton before death will never conquer… Chavi and I blew up our yellow balloons and threw them in the audience.. then during the talk remix we started the cell phones again and this time everybody did it! Yayy we started something! Weeeeee!
- Politik.. I held up my look at the stars sign for the first time cause it has lots of lights maybe guy looked over.. I know I;’m such a dreamer

- Death and all his friends ooh noo nearly the end of our last viva la vida tour concert booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo the song is really great though… I appreciated it even more now that I’ve heard it the second time!
- Glass of water: well just kill me now! I yelled my head off! I loved it soo much! I can’t describe it… and Chavi get’s all the scoops!!!! Now there’s a scoop for ya!
the ongeloofelijk thing was AWESOME! For those who don’t know: somebody held up a sign that said: coldplay = ongeloofelijk(incredible) when Chris said how the fuck did you do that?!!? I can’t wait for the EP now… I already was in heaven when I heard LIT II was gonna be on it!

No picks or sticks today.. but that’s okay! We got the setlist again at the end.. don’t even remember how that went.. ask chavi!
Now it really is over: stalkers UNLEASHED!!!! Mission sexyman is on! Chavi is getting butterflies while I’m trying to get a personal setlist… some girl held up a sign that said : setlist please! (she did that after albert too) and yelled to one of the roadies.. he went to look for one and she was the only one that got something, but I think it wasn’t a personal one… it had no tape and it was quite neat… so we left and we wer off to the back entrance………… dun dun dunnnnnnnn
Part 5
We ran between the people and got out as fast as we could…. Went to the back but were kinda of disappointed.. we couldn’t find the vans anywhere!!! we hung around the tour busses for a bit but the area was much more closed off than Rotterdam, we wanted to at least see pete or reno again but mostly wanted to see ANYBODY from coldplay off course… Our feelings told us they’d left which figures.. last concert they were going home.. and like I said Guy seemed very tired, they probably did a runner… soo bummer…
We went back into the venue.. got us some drinks, tried to get a tour book bu t they were sold out… looked for Pete.. couldn’t find him all in all we were just about done… we sat outside to cool off, but then we were starting to get cold and thinking about going home.. we started walking to my car, but it was still pretty busy at the lot, and I said to chavi I’d rather have another look near the busses then be stuck in traffic here, she agreed and we went to the back AGAIN.. we passed a door that said back stage lounge…. We’de passed it before but there had been security. And suddenly we noticed something! A ping pong table! THE pingpong table!!!!
Then suddenly someone came out and we stopped… she tried to open a door but broke the handle… it was funny, then she used another door and as she came out I said: you don’t know your own strength.. she laughed but was a bit embarresed, and walked away quite fast… leaving the door open
What? Open? Really? Should we go in? did we wanna be those girls?
We hesitated and then didn’t do it… so we kept walking to the busses again…. still nothing interesting… there was a hummer there and a man we met in line that morning said that security told him they arrived in a hummer before 10 AM… it seemed highly unlikely too us, since they’d been using the same german Mercedes vans for the entire European tour so why take a hummer now? And arriving before 10 seemed early to us too.. now it started raining and we were cold and tired so we started walking back…
passed the backstage lounge again… the door was still open… Chavi surprised me By just walking in and I hesitated at first but then thought ohhh what the heck the show is over anyway, and snuck in as well… we passed the curtain and were in awe of the ping pong table! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
we hugged it and it was glad to take a picture with us… not all ping pong tables would have been that nice… we even smelled it :embarrassed: to see if it smelled like Will (we can compare it to the drumstick) I think it did!
So off course we were trying to find the dressing room.. nothing there so we went up higher.. but it was a dead end (stupid venue).. disappointed we left the area said goodbye to our new friend the table and started walking to my car again..
we were just talking about how it would have been nice to see Pete again, and were bummed that we didn’t even get to see him or reno! when we saw a man walk in opposite direction inside the venue (there was a hall way with glass doors) Chavi yelled it’s pete! And I said is it him?! And she said yes so I ran to the door and knocked on it drawing his attention, he turned and seemed happily surprised he saw us again!
I was laughing and said : we’re not stalking you, I swear to god it’s a coincidence were not stalking you! And he laughed, we asked if he had been succesfull with the signatures and he said they got a lot, they also sold(?) chocolate bars.. he opened the box.. He said he wanted to give us some for being so dedicated and looked for an opening to pass us some, but there wasn’t any and the doors were locked..
I made some drama and went : NOOOOOOOOOOOOoo you can’t show us the chocolate and then not give it!!!! WHyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy He laughed and said well I want to but I can’t and then I rememberd the backstage lounge door! And said: there’s a door open over there we could go there!
And he said okay meet me there! So we walked up there and Pete met us there, at first I meant to wait neatly at the door, but then I noticed a bin and I wanted to throw away my bottle so I just did, and then Chavi followed me in and said: uhhmmm I don’t think we’re allowed in here We talked a bit.. (chavi what did we say? We had fun I remember that) and we thanked him, then a couple of Oxfam volunteers came out and they said by to Pete and he said : Hey guys these are the girls I met yesterday I told you about them! I was like you’ve told them about us? That’s so nice! But I’m kind of embarrassed… well servers me right cause we embarrassed you a bit didn’t we…
And Pete said oooh noo don’t be embarrassed…. And yeah I was a little hehehe… then some security guy came up to us and said looking at me and chavi(in dutch) personell wasn’t allowed to go out through that door I laughed and said we don’t even work here :lipsrsealed: Pete and Chavi didn’t have fuckall Idea what was going on and and the other volunteers tried to make it okay by saying just this once it’s okay I explained to Pete, and said to the others just go run for your lives Pete tried to calm the guard saying he was letting them out but he was staying in, the guard kept replying in dutch it was really funny, but we figured we weren’t allowed back there so we should go, we were already outside but still saying bye to Pete and then I remembered we should ask for his email so we could send him his first fan picture! Awww so I just saidoh we wanna send you that picture we took yesterday and he said: I’ll give you my email! Just need something to write on.. chavi was carrying our bag so I turned to her and said you have a pen.. she said: I do? And pete said something like.. you’re the fans you’re supposed to have a pen! I said yeah I know alllllll about that (remembers guy incident at brixton) it was okay he found a pen and ripped a pieeof the boxe of chocolate and wrote down his email… some more people came out and said we needed to close the door, Pete said we’ll be gone in a sec I’m going that way and he pointed at our friend the Ping Pong table… I said oooh booo you’re going to the funside… we’re just going home we were rushed so we said goodbye and thanked hima gain for being SSOOOOO Nice! And we got in my car and drove off into the sunset (not really it was rainy and dark)

It was my tenth Coldplay gig yesterday, so I had something to celebrate.
I think this was the first time I saw a Coldplay gig without Chris doing at least one fuckup. The band sounded very tight yesterday and were more focused than on Thursday in Rotterdam. In fact, I don't think I have ever seen them this tight. They really were on fire yesterday. The atmosphere in the crowd was also just a bit better than on Thursday. I stood on the second row in the center, which made the long wait very worthwile.
Glass of Water sounded amazing. I was wearing a Strokes T-shirt, so I was extremely pleased when Chris called the Strokes "the best band in the world" and then Albert Hammond Jr. came out to play a monstrous riff on that song. Excellent drumming from Will as well. Quite a departure from the stuff on Viva La Vida I think.

Didnt get much sleep.. but it’ll be alright ! it’s gonna be the 6th time I see Coldplay live in 34 days for the Viva la vida Tour !!! we’re on a OMG-we-met-Chris-Martin-last-night high, and nothing can bring us down ! We’re leaving for Antwerp early in the morning, because WE NEED our front row spots again ! we have people to say Hi to you know =P hehe ! Carla and I are the 4th and 5th person to be at the venue (which is an ugly one btw..). The doors are wide open, the roadies are setting up the stage, we can see it from outside.. weeee, we’re gonna be right over there tonight ! So we’re sitting here against the glass windows making new banners for the band and Reno Bo. Ninke (aka Fryske Famke) joins us and gives us our tickets. We have a pizza for lunch which was a very nice idea I must say as it probably was the only real meal we had for two days ; when we see Pete from Oxfam inside the venue.. We knock on the windows and wave but he doesn’t notice us. So we make him a banner which says ‘Hey Pete’ and he sees us, quite surprised again ! but he laughed so it was great ! made the waiting a little less long.. Later, we see him outside the venue this time and thank him for mentioning us in his blog . Around 5pm, Carla tells me she could hear a new song played during soundcheck (which was surely Glass of water) when she got back to the car. I hear it too when I go across the street to get some water at the pizza place. It’s very exciting, we’re hoping they’ll play it tonight.
They open the door at 6:35pm, the security is being FUCKING ANNOYING but eventually we get through, and so we run ! I don’t know how it happened but I managed to get an Oxfam flyer when running ! Hehe Good job me ! we struggled through security who was telling us to slow down but GOT OUR FRONT ROW RESERVED SPOTS, center right between Chris and Guy : PERFECT ! a bit upset at the beginning because people who came much later to the venue got perfect center spots, but later we realise that ours are simply THE BEST ! we were between, on one side two guys who were a bit weird as they were nice but wouldn’t want to share their pics and wouldn’t admit it (thank you…………. whatever) and one the other side two young girls who had the lyrics printed on papers and were practicing with their ipod on.. COME ON, SERIOUSLY ??!!!!!!! you don’t know the songs ?? WTF ?! !! That was pretty annoying, but huuh.. anyways. Thank God the guy behind us was nice .. Well, from what I understood.. he spoke mostly to Carla in Dutch. I had no idea what the hell they were talking about actually ! Haha !
(okay, I’ll just shut up.. this is getting way too long for a review.. is not even a review Haha )
Highlights :
-We waved some balloons and the ‘Hey Reno, how you doin’ ?’ banner and he saw us !!! he even laughed hehe ! again, we were the only ones clapping at the front ! Poor Albert ! We got two setlists of the band which were directly given to us by a roadie ! SWEET ! and also one of the guitar picks Reno threw in our direction !
-LIFE IN TECHNICOLOR : I keep repeating myself in each review, but the beginning is always AMAZING! That’s when the fun starts and you cant get tired of it ! Never ever !
-Violet hill : Chris said HEY !!!!!! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ! he saw and recognized the ‘you make me shiver’ banner he signed the night before in Rotterdam ! OMG !
-In my place : the yeahs were pretty awesome ! so much energy and that’s when the guys gather. AWESOME ! and the drums always kick ass in that song !
-Just before Cemeteries of London : ‘We hope you have a great time, Please sing with us, THANKS TO PEOPLE WHO’VE BEEN TO OTHER SHOWS BEFORE THIS ONE!’ OMG is he talking about us and pointing in OUR direction at the same time ? OH YEAH HE IS ! Yaaay !
-CSC : I love it ! I love it ! I love it ! oh and I love it !
-Fix you : Tears almost streamed down my face ! I swear !
-Viva la vida and Lost! Such a great combination ! it rocks live !
-it was Ongeloofelijk ! Chris’s new favorite word ! haha !
-We started the cellphone thing during the Viva remix ! That was much better than in Rotterdam ! Come on people do it it’s fun ! no one saw the video from Paris or what?
-Politik !! I was dead tired after that one ! it was so great and powerful !
-Lovers in Japan, again the tears.. but no ! I enjoyed as much as I could !
-Chris waving back at us when he goes off stage before the last encore ! Weeeeeeeeeeee !
-GLASS OF WATER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! as soon as we saw Chris heading to the piano WE JUST KNEW ! Such a nice present from them ! the song rocks live, I cant wait to hear the studio version. It really is something to discover a song for the first time when it’s played live. You just enjoy and you cannot not fall for it ! I thought it’d be more a slow song, but I was gladly surprised !
-When they played Glass of water it was probably one of the first time I see Albert Hammond Jr smiling and laughing like this at a Coldplay concert ! Haha !
-They took their time to say bye to Europe.. that was nice and emotional. And that was it !
-Got a setlist from the other cameraman who came to us, although he was far and could’ve given it to someone closer .. THANK YOU!
We knew, or had the feeling that the band left already but we still went to the back entrance. But no German vans this time.. bummer! We met the famous ping pong table, after sneaking in backstage when we saw a door open ! nothing can stop us hehe ! we went upstairs, went into the lounge bar, but no Coldplay.. so we left. Later, we went back and saw Pete again. Great moment ! And we went back home.. that was the end .. of this tour leg I mean ! Don’t worry, I’ll be back !
