Didn't sleep a lot last night (way too excited). I arrived at the POPB at 8:30 hoping to be the first there but HOLY SHIT there was 14 persons (3 of them had slept here). I've waited there on my own till 11am, I was freezing. Cuuliem and Chavi arrived with the sun around 11 and 11:30 am, my skin was now burning. We heard a first soundcheck around 15h, Chris was repeating lotsa time the same part of VLV as if he had a problem with it. They sang Lost and VH too, though it was hard to hear them clearly. Later we started to have wind problems, and around 17pm we were under the rain. Cha Buckland came to say hello and brought us some sort of Coldplay posters (from a radio promo) she was finding on trees hehe... There were another soundcheck around 17:30 with GPASUYF, VLV (chorus now), VH and LiT. Doors opened at 18:40 (instead of 18:30, we were getting nervous XD). We turned out to be pretty good at running so the three of us arrived first row, I'd say in front of Chris but we were actually on Jonny's side.

Well what i'm goin to say is very personal so don't blame me but I started to notice once I was inside that something was wrong, I wasn't feeling THAT excited now I was in. I was afraid of that kind of feeling cause i've been going to too much concerts recently, and in a way I was excepting to be as impressed (by the venue and the crowd) as I was in 2005 though it couldn't happen cause 2005 was my very first concert ever and also first concert of Coldplay.

So AH.Jr... arrived, he wasn't that bad, I actually enjoyed few songs even if I wouldn't listen to him at home XD Chavi and I were trying to yell his name in order to make him feel as if he had a very good crowd, quite fun.

We noticed everything was quite slow (they opened the gates later than what they had announced, they started the concert later ...etc), apparently they wanted the concert to finish around 23:30 so they had to start later.

The roadies came and I asked Chavi to help me finding Miller cause I had my beautiful Spreading the R#42 love banner... I tried to yell and call him or other roadies but none of them was paying attention to meus. Doesn't matter.

The rap song was on, I knew the concert was about to start, I was feeling less and less excited and that was getting me worried.

LiT - Holy shit, that's Coldplay, I'm back again very closed to them though something's wrong, why the hell am I not impressed, do I actually realise I'm in front of Coldplay or am I on another planet right now ? I was trying to feel excited, I was just feeling STRANGE even though I was jumping and yelling... (Now the concert is over I think that I wouldn't have felt like that if I had been in the back of the venue cause I would have feel the crowd, you can't do that when you're first row, everyone's in your back... ANYWAY it doesn't matter that much now)

VH - didn't have time to think cause Chavi told me it was the right time to put our masks cause Chris would look at the crowd. The truth is, we weren't seeing that good with our masks so we haven't even been able to say if they noticed us XD. Maybe we'll try again tomorrow... I mean in few hours !

Clocks / SOS / In My Place - Perfect too (still feeling strange but enjoying it nonetheless)

Cemeteries - Oh gosh, I didn't know how it would sound on live (I wanted to keep the surprise as it's my fav song of the new album), Chris asked if we were ready to sing with him and he started and, well, still that strange feeling which made me thought ouch, I'm not finding it magic, i'll start to feel really bad in few minutes if it turns out that I am not enjoying myself a lot at a concert of my fav band... Btw, don't worry : the song itself was perfect, problem was coming from ME.

Then Chinese Sleep Chant, 42 and Fix You which started to wake me suddenly up, I was jumping, singing, and feelin GOOD for the first time. I don't know what had happened in my head, maybe I was too stressed about not liking them, I just dunno... now the concert was really starting for me !!!

Strawberry Swing - I adored it (crowd was great too).

and there OMG THE B-STAGE PART ! So I really don't know what happened in my brain on that night but I totally felt like crying cause it was just AWESOME (I also didn't know how would sound GPASUYF). It was just... I dunno I don't have words, it was like perfect, it was totally THE BEST OF COLDPLAY, it was the reason Coldplay is one of my fav band, it was HAPPINESS. Same thing about Talk, and The Hardest Part which really moved me, I swear I was about to cry...

We might have had RoL around there (I don't exactly remember when), which was awesome too. Chris playing alone. I wasn't on earth anymore but this time nothing to be worried abouth : it was just way too awesome.

VLV and Lost killed me as I was jumping and enjoying them too much hehe they wereeeee bloody goooooooood Crowd didn't stop singing the wowowow (as usual now, cause Chris asked us to go on) and it lasted quite a lot till our voices were leaving us hehe.

Then they went up there to sing The Scientist and Death, I wasn't disappointed AT ALL by The Scientist, I thought I would prefer the normal one but this acoustic attempt was very nice. I enjoyed Will voice too.

Then maybe it's gonna seem stupid but the VLV remix during the encore was AMAZING, everyone started to sing the wowowow again and the whole venue turned on their phones and waved the screens in the air while singing, it was like dancing stars, it was brilliant. I was feeling SO GOOD, I swear you should see that on video !!!! (I don't have any camera so I hope some people filmed that)

Politik Lovers and DAAHF were perfect. Btw I wasn't disturbed at all by the fact Politik was played that late, was a good idea to put it there after the first encore ! Someone fainted during DAAHF so we all stopped singing for few minutes (I mean, those who were first row), wasn't very annoying though. We noticed Miller was just in front of us taking pics after Lovers so I took back my banner and put it on his way, we saw him smiling few times without stopping in front of my banner though...

Before leaving Chris read few banners and Guy took pics of the crowd (and Miller took pics of Guy taking a pic of us, and I even think Chavi took a pic of Miller taking a pic of Guy who was taking a pic of us XD), then Millers took pics of the crowd but Chavi and I couldn't be on them.

The band came back after another very wowowowow-ish encore (hehe) to play yellow, which I thought would be strange as an end but it turned out to be quite a good idea. I tried to take few pics of Chris with my phone during yellow in order to keep a little something from this concert, but I quickly noticed Miller was back in front of me so I grabbed my banner in order to insist XD

The band left after an AMAZING SHOW which I didn't find short : I was really satisfied and felt like I have had everything I wanted.

Before leaving we saw Miller taking pics of the Crowd again and once again Chavi and I weren't on it, so I waved my banner and then Miller turned to me smiling and he took pics of Chavi and I holding our banners, then he told me can I keep this one please ? so I agreed with an OF COURSE AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH (<= too excited XD) and he left laughing.

We then didn't have much time to share everything we wanted to share cause we had to take butterflies for Cha, find lotsa friends...etc Chavi, Cha and I took a pic of us with the masks XD We left around OO:OOam but we're going back there in few hours XD

[Chris2]

I think the crowd was really amazing last night! My seat was opposite to the stage (left side) so I had a good view of the people, and most of them were jumping and singing! almost everyone BUT the ones close to me . . a man behind me even asked my mum to seat down Man, you're in a Coldplay concert, you're not here to sleep !! lol after viva la vida, we spent most of the concert standing anyway!

I liked the part just before the lights went down, with the Blue Danube Waltz everyone clapping hands to the rtthme, and suddenly the lights went off and people became screaming at the top of their lungs to welcome the band!

The Viva remix was also magical, with all the phones dancing like stars! I loved that remix!! (thanks fo the video Chris²)

My only disappointement was the short encore, and the fact that I couldn't go back home with butterflies! seriously, the security guard wouldn't let us (people with seated tickets) go down in the standing area to pick up butterflies!

Man, that was hell of a show ! I arrived @ Bercy at 7PM and joined the huge queue for the show. Actually, that was quite fast and i was in at 7.30PM and we were not so far from the scene, we could see it quite good actually. Then my friend and I started waiting... The first part lasted something like 30-40min. It was not so bad but i thought that the sound was horrible, i couldn't hear the singer's voice. Then another 30min to wait, it was very hot inside, i was starting to melt then the show began.

  • Life in technicolor : Amazing, when the first sounds came to the crowd, everybody yelled ! It was amazing. Then it goes faster and faster and BOUM ! Coldplay is on the scene ! Very nice intro
  • Violet Hill : Nice song too but i thought that Chris had a strange voice
  • Clocks : AMAZING ! When Chris' fingers hit the piano, all the crowd began to scream. That was so massive. The song was brilliant with wonderful light effects
  • In my place : Definitely one of the best songs of the show. Everyone knew perfect the lyrics, and the "yeaaaaaaaaaaaah" were so huge. I was shouting with my hands up. This song was so good !
  • Speed of sound : I love that song and the band played it nice.
  • Cemetories of London : I'm well impressed by the live version. The "la la lays" were so good !
  • Chinese sleep chant : Not my favorite but OK
  • 42 : Lovely, Chris was singing so good
  • Fix You : Another amazing perform. All the crowd sang, some lighters opened, people waving their hands
  • Strawberry Swing : Well, I don't like it so much but finally, I loved it !
  • GPASUYF and Talk : Great performance. They played ver close to us, was so cool !
  • The Hardest Part : Nice personal intrpretation by Chris. He played a few then said "ah comment est-ce que j'attaque ?". Everyone laughed then he played the song. After the song, he told us to prepare for singing
  • Viva La Vida : EXTRAORDINARY !!!!!!! As soon as they began playing, everyone in the crowd yelled like I've never heard before. All the song was perfect, they played it perfect and the "wo oh oh wo" were so impressive, all my body was shaken, it lasted a few minutes. This moment was so great, i felt in fright. Definitely the best song of the show !!!
  • Lost : I love this song and it was perfect? Johnny's solo is so good live, i could hear it for hours, so good !
  • The scientist : They sang it in the steps, very close to the audience. I love the acoustic version
  • Death Will Never Conquer : Nice performance too
  • Viva La Vida (remix) : Another big part of the show. There were no lights, everything was dark when the remix was played. Then everyone took out his cellphone and waved it, it was incredible, so nice to watch. This was really amazing, it was so wonderful. I took some pics.
  • Politik : Nice song. I love the part in the middle of the song when there's only Chris singing and playing piano.
  • Reign of Love : Nice one.
  • Lovers in Japan : They replaced the background with Haiku, a Japanese film. And then the paper butterflies fell from everywhere, there were so many. I looked up and it was amazing.
  • Death and All His Friends : I love this song so much and the played it perfect, the part when all the band sings together is so great.

Then they left, all teh audience sang the special Paris "wo oh oh oh" and they came back !

  • Yellow : Nice, but Chris' voice wasn't perfect (i was a bit disappointed but everyone was singing and it was nice)
  • The Escapist : they left, such a shame. I would have loved to see them playin' close to the audience because there's so much emotion in this song.

Another "wo oh oh wo" but all the lights were switched on and we knew it was over. I got back to my place and took a nice shower (so good after 3 hours standing up at 35°C....

So, it was the first time I saw Coldplay live and it was perfect. The show was amazing, there was so much emotion and next time they go back to Paris, I will definitely be there (but please guys, play Don't Panic this time !)

Queueing is very hard work!

Queueing is very hard work!

here's my review.. let's try to be short this time.

Very stressful morning.. scared to get lost in Paris.. but everything turned out to be fine. I arrived at The Bercy around 11:15am. I saw the trucks and buses in front of the back entrance, near the VIP doors. I asked a security guy about the band.. he nicely told me they werent there yet.. LIAR ! their cars were there.. oh well maybe he WAS telling me the truth. Anyway, I went to our entrance and met Camille (aka Chris²) and Stéphane (aka cuuliem). They're both really nice ! We got excited and the fun started. People came quickly in the line. I was kinda impressed.. wasnt the same in Strasbourg nor Lyon. And somehow, the waiting was less unbearable. In the afternoon, we heard the band doing soundcheck ! Yaaaay ! we got even more excited and we still had a few hours till they open the doors. Cha (aka Cha Buckland) came to say Hi. Aww she's so nice and funny ! I was REALLY getting nervous as we knew when the doors would be open.. and I still needed to buy my ticket for the next day because I didnt want to wait the 10th to get it, I needed/wanted to be sure I had my ticket the day before.. (NO I DIDNT HAVE ONE for the 10th at that moment, because I thought it'd be more reasonable not to go to a 4th show.. yeah silly me! ). Someone I met on the Internet was supposed to bring it to me at the venue in the afternoon, BUT he got stuck at work. STRESS STRESS STRESS ! I got a phone call an hour before the doors opened.. it was him telling me he couldnt come ! OMG! I was about to cry ! but then, he promised me he'd be there early in the morning and that I shouldnt worry because I could trust him... yeah right, didnt make me feel better.. argh.. Forget about it, not the right time to be gutted.. I was about to enter into the venue and see Coldplay live ! So, the doors opened at 6:40pm and we ran like crazy : and voila ! I'm the new Queen of Front row There we were, close to the stage, center left, perfect view ! and then bla bla bla.. I swear I'm trying to make it short..

The show was unbelievable ! Now that it's been two days since the last concert I attended.. I definitely think it was the best of all 4. They were all amazing and I had LOADS of fun at each of them, but this one's on top ! The energy Coldplay had on stage was overwhelmingly impressive, they were brilliant. And the crowd was fantastic ! Maybe the fact that I knew it'd probably be the last time I'd see them in a long time played a huge part in how I felt.. I dont know! but it was GREAT, PERFECT !

some good/great/cute/funny/memorable moments of that night : -the Chris Martin masks Camille and I put on during Violet hill! even though we're not sure the band saw us (I highly doubt about it because they cant see the crowd, it's all dark), it was hilarious. PLUS, the security guard who was standing in front of us had a good laugh. it was great ! He said we were such fangirls, and was glad not to see us the next day because he'd be working at the Stade de France.. haha ! -Jonny read my new banner which says 'Jonny + Chris = true love' I think he didnt like it.. he made this awkward shy smile.. oops ! and I think Guy saw my 'You make me SHIVER' banner.. not sure though. -Clocks ! the song in itself : incredible ! -Chinese sleep chant : it's really growing in me. Always has been a favorite of mine but I love it even more now ! and seeing Guy singing low is AWWWWWWWWWWWW OMG ! *THUD* -after the little set on the bstage, seeing Will, Guy and Jonny going back to the main stage while Chris is having his own thing on the piano. The three always say things to each other and laugh about something ! GAAAAHHH i'd LOVE to know what the hell they're talking about ! they're adorable ! -Viva la vida ! In Guy's word "MAGNIFIQUE" -the mobile phones moment ! dont know where/how/when it started but it was BRILLIANT, impressive and beautiful ! -Politik !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -Reigh of love as Carla told me : 'oh sweet Moses [i] always get the scoops!' -The pretty butterflies. They're so cool ! -Miller took pics of our banners (dont remember which side though ) and 'stole' () Camille's ! SQUEEEEEEEEE ! HAHA -People still singing in the subway ! AMAZING ! Oooh oooh ooooh ooh ! Oooh ooh oooh oh !

[Chavi]

Hi everyone, Amazing reports there, nothing I can add that hasn't already been said about the gig... It was really memorable and emotional -I almost cried when Politik came up, dunno why. I'd been waiting to see Coldplay live for at least three years; that was when I first started listening to them. Okay I'm starting to ramble now... The truth is that this night was even more unique for me for two reasons, and I wanted to share these with you guys on the board.

First of all, when they sang the Scientist and Death Will Never Conquer (among the crowd), I was RIGHT behind them. It was nuts. I did not expect to see them that well since we were sitting THREE DAYS away from the stage and I never thought they'd come nowhere near us but THEY DID. Haha sorry for getting hysterical but just thinking about that moment makes my heart race. I did film the entire performance but my camera f***ed up during the Scientist. I'm trying to upload my video of Will singing Death Will Never Conquer on YouTube but it's taking a really long time, so I'll update this post as soon as I can. The vid is shot from behind but I had to work with what I had

That was just insane, they were soooo close. I kept shouting Jonny's name but he probably didn't hear me lol.

And then something else even better happened. We went to try and meet them... At first I was a wee bit reluctant to wait for them after the show was over, because I didn't want to be all stalkerish. But I knew I would regret not doing it as well, and I couldn't miss the opportunity (even if it meant being a bit delusional). So we went to the artists' entrance -or in this case, exit, and waited. We waited for a couple of hours (we kept telling ourselves that if we were going to stalk, we might as well do it in a professional manner); my emotions were still running high from the concert and then it was my last night in Paris so I didn't mind staying out until very late. Aaaanyway, the cars kept moving around, security people were looking at us thinking we're weirdos etc., it was quite an experience. But in the end it was all very rewarding because Jonny and Will came out around 2am.

I literally couldn't breathe because it was SO intimidating, seeing Jonny f***ing Buckand standing right there in front of me. The first thing I told him was 'amazing gig, that was a great performance' and he said 'oh thanks, thank you very much' and then my mind just went blank because I was so scared and starstruck at the same time. He was very friendly, smiling and signing autographs, but still keeping a somewhat respectful distance (you can really tell he's very shy. it's very odd and endearing at the same time). I remember thinking that he was tall, and that he had nice Chucks. Other than that...

Will on the other hand was brillant with the fans, he even took a couple of pictures with the other girls that were waiting. When he came up to me, I handed him my pen and he didn't know if he was supposed to take it or use his own so it was a bit awkward for a few seconds; but then he laughed and said 'I've got my own pen' and I said 'ooh okay classy'. I couldn't believe I was in front of Will Champion, my brain really couldn't adjust. He was very well-dressed, wearing a very expensive-looking suit so he was even more handsome than usual.

Patience pays off
Patience pays off

They eventually left -there were three cars coming out, and I'm pretty sure I saw a dark-haired person in the second one, and that had to be Guy. Gutted I didn't get to see him but I'm not complaining (and to be fair, I did see him quite well during the gig, hee).

Ten minutes later, Chris arrived and he was downright amazing. I dunno why people think he's arrogant.. He immediately started signing autographs and then I said 'amazing performance, I've been waiting for this gig for ages' (dont know why I said that, my brain wasn't working properly), he said something like "aaaww thanks it was good wasn't it? I thought it was really great this time around" and he started talking about how last time was terrible -I asked him what happened but he was already talking to somebody else lol. He took pictures with everyone and my bloody camera didn't work the first time we posed together, it was embarassing. I kept apologising afterwards, but he was like "don't worry it's okay, everyone's going to have a picture" and he was being really nice to everyone.

But what an amazing night, it was all really worth it. And all that stuff is nothing compared to the actual gig which... I mean, I'd been waiting for it so badly I thought I'd be disappointed but I wasn't. They totally delivered; the setlist was brillant and the Viva la Vida songs were so good live! And then all the unexpected little things such as the piano version of the Hardest Part, the acoustic version of the Scientist etc. Legend really. I can't wait to see them live again.

Guy is my friend's favourite bandmember, I felt a bit bad for her afterwatrds cause I made her stay all that time and he was the only one who didn't show up BUT I made it up to her because we're both huge Strokes fan and we saw Albert Hammond Jr. I didn't write about him in my earlier post but he was really adorable; I told him that it was my friend's birthday (my present to her was the ticket to the concert lol) so he said happy birthday and then took a picture with her. At some point I really wanted to ask him about what was going on with the Strokes and when would a fourth album be released but then I was afraid to be rude so I didn't.

COLDPLAY + Albert Hammond Jr Paris Bercy Sept 9th 2008

With its new record Coldplay is probably the biggest band of 2008, they've been N° 1 in more than 30 countries and they're playing in Paris for 2 Sold out nights @ Bercy ( 17 000 capacity ).

Albert Hammond Jr is opening , he's the guitar player of The Strokes .

The concert was very late as Albert hammond Jr started his set at 8:40 pmHe shouldgo back with them as soon as he canas his gig was plain boring , his singing is monotonous and the songs are just average. I already saw him and it wasn't as boring as tonight.

What happened Albert ?

Then at 9:50 pm Coldplay came on stage , Live they 're much more exciting than on cd , they may only have 4 records but they have lots of hit songs. The singer is still funny to watch and the musicians could be easily replaced no one will noticed it. The stage is very simple with the cd cover as backdrop and then a big screen in the back . They've played a couple of songs on a small stage.

They've also played at the back of the venue and this time it wasn't on a proper stage but directly in the aisle in Bercy , first time i'm seeing this happen. Chris made an effort to speak an almost perfect french. Good point.

Funny how some songs are sounding like U2 , they even did like U2 when their drummer came up front to play some drums.

Enjoyable night.

( Sorry no pictures for this gig as Patrice Guino, our photographer, didn't take any, he just didn't care at all.

This gig was the best gig of my life!! It was amazing! I did get some strange looks though,I was jumping up and down like an idiot for every song! Oh yeah,it got so warm in the stadium,I looked like I had been thrown in the shower by the end of it!

I was in standing in the middle of the crowd.I was a bit disappointed cos I couldn't see the stage at all!lol I'm 5'2 so it was kinda difficult. I had to get out of the crowd before I passed out with the heat. We made our way to the back just before they played yellow and then stayed to the end and ran out the exit to catch the metro before the rush.I don't think I've exprienced heat like that at a gig in my life! The last coldplay gig I went to was outside. It was a fantastic gig none the less!!!

[Lolly Pop]

I've just arrived home in good old England....... what a gig!

My 4th Coldplay concert....... but first ever time outside of England.

WHAT A NIGHT.

Amazing set list, great crowd......... so glad all the pics, vids and reviews are here because i don't remember a great deal.......... 10 pints of beer and a lot of crazy jumping that nearly killed me probably the reason for that!!!

I must say.... i really enjoyed being English and knowing every song word for word when a lot of those around me understandably didn't always know all the words!!!

What a night!

Back from the show, but head still full of wonderful souvenirs ... The guys were ON FIRE (So as the parisian crowd ^^ !!) and I have the feeling that they really enjoyed the show...

Excellent reviews were posted so I won't do it again for each song but there is few point that I'm very surprised nobody notice  !!

At the very end of Politik and before RoL, Chris began to play solo an instrumental (not the Eric Satie cover !) I have never heard before and I was wondering if it was not the instrumental announced in the "Prospekt's march" ???!!!!!

During the accoustic set, Chris said that they always liked to play in Paris, but that today was very very special (cause they had friends and family in the crowd !) and that they will remember it forever (For this time and only this time, he spoke in english, apologized to only-french speakers and that beyond words, they only have to watch his cheesy face....Cutie pie  !!)...So, I was wondering if any pregnancy wasn't annonced (they are all so in maternity time ^^ !) or a very good news like this !!

Except that, it was really amazing...The moment with VLV remix was unbelievable (The Roadie #42 video bearly shows the magic of the moment !!!!!!)...Chris made a lot of his very sweet little laughs when we sang almost the songs...There was a "rub-rub-rub" moment between Jonny and Guy (yeaahh...I know ^^ !) and I went almost hysterical !!!! It was greaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat...
